focus

sometimes that's easy-peasy. but only sometimes. not just literally speaking - on my last roll of slide film, roughly half of the shots were unintentionally out of focus, you can figure me stomping my foot here. sometimes it may seem very obvious what to focus on. and still, this can be all wrong. it may be more rewarding, productive and wise to focus on the less obvious. on things that tend to be overlooked. things that didn't feature much for us up to now. fairly easy in photography: you just play around with the lens. less easy in life - i wish mental shifts were as lightly done as the turning of the focus ring.

yesterday, i visited abby's blog and her post really resonated with me. how i wish i would less often wait for doors to open, instead of just knocking. or checking if they might be open already, someone calling "come on in!" as soon as you start pushing the squeeking frame. maybe worth a try?

I agree too! It really does help sometimes to focus on the less obvious...

I've got a new 50mm lens which does help focussing
