tuesday inspiration (and winner)

1. Untitled, 2. Untitled, 3. evening/morning, 4. dorothea dress, 5. Ella, 6. us, 7. Untitled, 8. Untitled, 9. * * *

we had a long bank holiday weekend, and even though it was raining a fair bit, i had a lovely time. lots of lounging around on the sofa, but also some planting of flowers on my little 'terrace', some long overdue window cleaning (there are 32 panes in my living room windows alone!) and even some sorting through of a pile of receipts for my tax return. plus dinner with friends and some card playing. what have you been up to?

anyhow, time for some flickr inspiration: loving portraits this time. isn't it amazing in how many different ways these fellow flickr photographers have managed to capture the essence of a moment, a character, a mood, a relationship, a feeling? goes to show that there are a million ways to use your camera. this truly inspires and encourages me to keep playing and exploring.

as always with my 'inspiration' posts, these images are not my photographs but the work of other photographers. click on the caption links underneath the mosaic to take you to their flickr streams and be inspired! i really highly recommend checking these photographers out - look at their streams and their profiles. you'll find many of them have blogs or shops too, all more than worth a look.

p.s.: and here as promised - tadah! - the winner of my '200' post surprise parcel: it's la ninja. congrats! please email me your address and you shall receive your surprise in due course...

Lovely as always.
I chuckled when I read about you window cleaning because it reminded me of the lazy way my mom cleans windows: one big bucket of water, a soft brush with a long shaft, lots of water carelessly rubbed on the windows and that's it. No drying off or anything, just air drying and sun :-)

i feel super special to have taken one of the photographs here. i was just reading your blog today and there it was! so nice. glad to have helped inspire you :)

it sounds like a nice day you have had - full of small normal things that make up days sometimes.

i am in california right now for two more months until going back home to iceland and it will not stop raining. rain rain rain rain. it should not be doing that in late may. i jealously look around flickr at everyone enjoying their summers already - even in stockholm and london the weather is fine and lovely! but i see you are having a bit of rain there in berlin also - so we have that in common ;)

hehe, ida, sounds so cool! -- to be quite honest, i'm cleaning my windows about once a year (sometimes twice). i really was just trying to impress you all... :)

hi geneviève! i know, i know, the rain's so boring! and we are having 7°C this morning. i hope it gets better soon, cause i'm really fed up with this kind of weather! maybe you'll be able to catch some california sun before heading home, i hope you can! -- and your photo is really lovely!

hi elena, welcome to this place!

You are right, it is Chopin on my post of yesterday. He was born 200 years ago so this year Poland celebrates it.

Beautiful inspiration. Dreamy.
Congratulations to la ninja! Remembering the parcel you sent me last summer I know she'll be super happy.

About the yarn. It's a mix of linen and cotton and I am making dish cloths. It's a perfect in between project. Easy, no need for counting and also wonderful to use when done.
